Age Limits for UGC NET Exam 2023
- There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professorship.
- For JRF’s maximum age limit is 30 years (relaxation for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and women candidates).

Eligibility for UGC NET Exam
To be eligible for UGC NET Exam 2023 the candidate must meet the following criteria
- Must have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university
- Must have obtained at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree (or an equivalent grade) for the General category and 50% marks for the Reserved category.
- Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree final year are also eligible to apply for the UGC NET exam, but they will need to produce their final year mark sheet at the time of admission to the Assistant Professor or JRF program.
How to Apply for UGC NET Exam 2023
To apply for the exam, candidates must create an account on the NTA website and fill out the online application form. Candidates will need to upload their scanned passport-size photograph and signature along with the application form.

Exam Pattern
The UGC NET Exam December 2023 consists of two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is a general paper meant to assess teaching/research aptitude, while Paper-II assesses the candidate’s expertise in their chosen subject. Both papers will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between papers.
